the basics
Place the rubber launching loop around launch hook, pull back and aim. When the djubi is released it flies through the air at varying degrees of speed, distance and height, depending on the trajectory and force of the launch - then snagged out of the air in the mesh pocket of the racquet.
tips
New to djubi? Try holding the racquet at varyious angles as you launch. Keep experiementing! You'll be a pro in no time.
Stretching the launch loop When you're just starting out, pull the ball back about 10 inches. With experience, you'll be able to stretch it farther (up to 14 inches). Don't overstretch it — you can dammage the loop! Read here for more info.
Extra performance on the launch: Try a slight flick of the wrist of the hand holding the racquet just as you release the djubi. You can increase distance and accuracy. Also make sure you're using fresh djubis. Newest ones always work best.
Picking up dropped balls: The djubi racquet was designed with a scoop edge to retrieve ground balls. Just drag the scoop edge under the djubi and it will slide right into the net.
Lefties: djubi is designed to work perfectly for left-handed or right-handed people.
Game ideas
Single player fun:
- Launch a djubi at a hard wall and catch the rebound.
- Launch djubis into the air and try catching them behind your back or between your legs.
- Try launching 2 djubis straight into the air one right after then other, then catch them both before they hit the ground.
Two player challenge:
- Simultaneously both players launch a djubi to each other and each player attempts to catch it....See how many times you and your partner can do this without missing one in flight.
Three or more players:
- One person launches a djubi to the others who will receive 50 points for each catch. The first player to 500 wins!
Team play:
- Ultimate djubi. Mark off a playing area (it can be any shape or size - just make sure there's out-of-bounds and end zones). You can't move when you have the djubi; you have to pass it to team-mates who are on the run. When a player catches a djubi in the end zone a point is scored. Play until dark.
